Cambridge, MA Yoga and Barre Photo Shoot at Barre & Soul Harvard {w/ Whitney Fitzpatrick}

Whitney Fitzpatrick Yoga Boston

You may remember my 2015 New Year's post card and this gorgeous yogi, Whitney Fitzpatrick! {And yes, noted, I dropped the ball on creating one this year. I'm only human. Next year ... I hope} Needless to say, I was thrilled when Whitney reached out this year to create a follow-up photo shoot because I absolutely adore her and love working together. This time, Whitney introduced me to barre as well as yoga and while I usually make a strong case of not being a "fitness photographer" but rather a "yoga photographer" this photo session made me want to add barre to the mix. I have yet to go to a class {it's on my list .. I no longer fear it} and I absolutely loved the introduction that Whitney gave me. There was so much grace both in her movement and in her stillnessAnd, yes, of course, a lot of that comes from Whitney herself but I am thrilled to be shooting a few more barre sessions in the near future. Whitney's smile, also thrills me every time and you'll see that shine through in the images below. We were lucky to photograph at Barre & Soul Harvard because it's absolutely delightful. It's a photographer's dream with gorgeous wood floors, large windows with ample window light bouncing around the white walls and a unique and thoughtfully curated style. The mural wall had me drooling and all of the plants and terrariums hanging from the ceilings were absolutely breathtaking. Oh, and there's a teal piano to boot! If I lived in the area, I'd probably be at this studio every day if only to meditate in the beauty ... and of course to take yoga and barre classes with their amazing instructors. Now, enough of me ooo-ing and aww-ing, take a look at some of my favorite photographs from our yoga and barre photo shoot earlier this month.

Whitney currently teaches at Barre and Soul Melrose and Harvard Square locations as well as Lexington Power Yoga (Barre & Soul) and she subs at YogaWorks Comm Ave and Back Bay {formally Back Bay Yoga and Sweet & Soul Yoga}.

Whitney's hair was done by the uber talented Amanda Andella who also teaches at Barre and Soul. I may have drooled a little over this braid crown she whipped up in just a few minutes. Brides, message me for her details! Imagine what she can do with even more time and prep!

Boston, MA Yoga Photo Shoot at Harvard Business School {with Emilka}

It's that time of year! College graduation season! Emilka contacted me to schedule a yoga photo shoot to preserve her memories from her time at Harvard. First off, I have to say a huge congratulations to her on completing her MBA from Harvard Business School! She will be walking in their graduation later this month. What an accomplishment! Emilka is originally from the Czech Republic and wanted to capture her time in Boston at her home here, her campus. This is my first time shooting at Harvard Business School and wow! It was absolutely gorgeous! Who knew this oasis was tucked into Allston, right by the water?! The brick buildings, the budding spring trees, the Harvard crest, and yes, even the Charles River, all provided the most amazing backdrops! It was so New England, so Boston, so Harvard, and so her! {And by the way, I would come back here to shoot in a hot second so if you, reader, are interested, please let me know!} Emilka was so much fun to work with and totally full of smiles and grace. I am so glad I got to know her. Now, take a look at some of my favorites from our session and wish Emilka luck in the next steps in her journey as a Harvard Business School grad!

Borrowed & Blue - Playful Summer Nuptials at Camp Claire by Tracy Rodriguez Photography

CT Wedding Photography by Tracy Rodriguez Photography

I am thrilled to see Caitlin and Matt's gorgeous wedding featured on the Borrowed and Blue wedding blog! It's my first to be featured in their "Gold Coast" section, highlighting all weddings in the CT shoreline counties. Caitlin and Matt were married at the Old Saybrook Congregational Church and hosted a playful DIY wedding at Camp Claire, in Old Lyme, CT with food trucks and all details camp-style. Photographs by the lake were a must and some of my favorites were shot with the deep greens of the wooded area as our backdrop. It was a beautiful day and one I am so happy to see featured.

If you'd like to read more about their wedding day, you can see Caitlin and Matt's blog post for all the details including a list of vendors.

You can also click over to see the full post featured on Borrowed and Blue. Enjoy!

If you'd like to meet for a wedding consultation to see if I would be a good fit as your photographer, please contact me today and tell me a bit about yourself and your wedding!

There is just something about the greater Boston area yoga community that is incredibly special. I can't put it to words perfectly but walking into Gillette Stadium Field House each year for Yoga Reaches Out's New England Yogathon, I can just feel it. The energy in the room is palpable. It's the day of the year when everyone gets together to rally for a connected cause, giving back to the community, giving back to children and families in need. This year, together, we raised over $300,000 for Boston Children's Hospital and Yoga Reaches Out, specifically benefitting the Hale Family Center which will be expanding its yoga, meditation, reiki, massage, zumba, and all things lovely offerings to the families and patients at Children's. If that doesn't sound like the perfect beneficiary, then I don't know what does. At one of our committee meetings this year, I was able to tour the facility and can tell you first hand, this place is incredible. If my family had a facility like this when I was going through my cardiac surgeries at age three, I know they would have benefitted from it tremendously.

I have photographed this event for five years now and I have gotten to know so many of you. You are all amazing people. Thank you for all that you do, for raising money, for joining together as a community, for being there, and for always giving me a smile or hug. Congratulations on an amazing job well done! Namaste.

And now, enjoy some photographs of your gorgeous selves! Click here to view all photographs from the day. Make sure to click on the three bar menu on the top left of the page to see all of the galleries.

  • Time Saving Tip - You can favorite your favorite images and download them as a group. After you favorite them, click "download all" and check the box next to "my favorites" and follow the instructions to download just those photographs and not all 1,000,000. How cool is that?
  • Printing Tip - The first three menus have my copyright on the photographs and are labeled "FOR SOCIAL MEDIA". The second two do not and are labeled "FOR PRINTING". If you'd like to order prints from the event, you'll want to use the second two menus. If favoriting first, make sure to favorite from these menus. If you order from the FOR SOCIAL MEDIA menus, your prints will all arrive with my copyright on them! Whoops.
