Borrowed & Blue - Urban Winter Wedding in Boston By Tracy Rodriguez Photography

Boston Wedding Photography by Tracy Rodriguez Photography

As luck would have it, just a week before Gabrielle and Cesar's wedding day, Gabrielle happened to see my post of Matt and Barbara's proposal at JP Centre Yoga and loved the look, feel and energy of the shots. She and Cesar had not planned to have a photographer at their wedding day, keeping it small at Boston City Hall and then Toro in the South End with a few close family and friends. I am so glad they saw that engagement session, contacted me, and that I was available on their day because I absolutely love these two. They were so fun to work with and all about the meaning of their wedding day, saying their vows to marry their best friend. And happily ever after. You can call me corny, but there is really nothing like witnessing a love this deep. And, lucky me again, when Cesar's cousin planned his wedding, they also contacted me to photograph their big day. {You can see Vanessa and Edin's wedding on the blog here.} So naturally I was thrilled to hear that Borrowed & Blue wanted to feature their gorgeous South End wedding. Take a look for the amazing details like her BHLDN dress, and a DIY bouquet that her mother made, rivaling any purchased bridal bouquet in my book!

If you'd like to read more about their wedding day, you can see Gabrielle and Cesar's Wedding Blog Post for all the details including a full list of vendors.

Brookline, MA Yoga Photo Shoot {w/ Chakra Power Yoga Teacher Trainees}

When Nicole Burrill, owner of Chakra Power Yoga in Braintree, MA, told me she was going to run a 200-hour yoga teacher training at her studio, I was instantly jealous. I completed my teacher training in 2011 but had my schedule allowed, I would have signed up to take it again with her. Nicole and I have been friends since we first connected in a yoga class at Beacon Hill Athletic Clubs I don't even remember how long ago. {7 years, maybe? Nicole?} It was before either of us had take teacher training, before either of us even knew we wanted to really. We connected in the way two best friends do though, instantly and as if we had known each other always. I am so incredibly grateful that our paths crossed when they did, that we bonded so quickly and that I am able to call her my friend and my teacher. I am beyond words, teary-eyed excited that she put together this incredible training and that I was able to photograph this group of kick-asana {too cheesy?} instructors for mini sessions last month. And, even more exciting, you ask? Nicole is launching her second studio, Chakra Power Waltham, June 1st! So please go give her studios a like of facebook {Chakra Power Yoga Braintree + Chakra Power Yoga Waltham} and sign up for her newsletter so that you can learn all about her studio happenings. I hope to see you there!

West Roxbury and Norwood, MA Wedding {Erika and Jose}

Something magical started happening last year and has been really abundant with my wedding clients this year and I'm almost nervous to jinx it by writing about it here but I just have to share. I have been contacted by the most amazing people to photograph their weddings in a much more intimate sense. While most of my weddings average around eight hour of coverage, starting in the morning and ending after dinner, I've now photographed six weddings in just one to four hours. And while I was at first scared of missing the getting ready moments and little details, I have found instead that I have had the most amazing time with these couples, focusing mainly on the bride and groom to capture their love and those amazing wedding day smiles and intimate moments. In a shorter time frame, I am often gifted {yes, gifted} a full hour or more with just the couple. I wish I could express in words how incredibly amazing having a full hour is on a wedding day. For Erika and Jose, I first met up with them to photograph their ceremony at Saint John Chrysosotom Parish in West Roxbury as well as portraits with their immediate family members and religious sponsors and then scooped them up to a pretty amazing hidden gem in West Roxbury, a lone fishing pier. I have driven by this pier several times and have been dreaming of photographing a couple there so when Erika and Jose told me the location of their church {just 1/2 mile down the road} I recommended that we go there. For a full hour, the couple laughed and danced and walked around and I was able to capture so much pure love. I finished the day at their dinner at BonCaldo Restaurant in Norwood, MA to grab some shots with their closest friends and family, and of course some of their rings on various fun props that were meaningful to the couple. These two were an absolute blessing to work with, always smiling, so kind, so genuine and so in love. I cannot wait for you to see all of these beautiful photographs of these two amazing people, now husband and wife.

Bedford, NH Wedding at the Manchester Country Club {Abbey + Nate}

I am so glad that Abbey and Nate contacted me to photograph their intimate wedding last month. In met up with the couple in the morning at Abbey's mom's house to photograph the two of them sharing some moments ahead of time together. And then, with family and close friends, Abbey and Nate tied the knot on the patio of the Manchester Country Club in Bedford, NH. My favorite part of the day was seeing how incredibly smitten these two are with each other. I continually find it to be amazing that my job allows me to peek into others' worlds to witness such love. Congratulations, Abbey and Nate!
