Framingham, MA Yoga Photo Shoot {W/ Common Ground Yoga}

The best perk of what I do is getting to meet so many incredible yogis all of the time. This was my first time photographing Common Ground Yoga and I really want to thank Lauren and Erica and their entire community for being so lovely and fun to work with. We photographed everything under the sun in our two day session from vinyasa yoga classes to restorative yoga classes to aerial yoga and kids’ aerial yoga, yoga teacher training sessions, ball rolling, teachers together, and even a series of mini sessions that’s going to be its own blog post because this one is just too dang long.

I’m excited to share some previews with you today of this beautiful space and community. If you haven’t yet been, I definitely recommend checking them out. You’ll see me in an aerial class some time soon because it’s been a decade since I’ve tried it and I was super intrigued photographing it. And, if you’re planning on attending Yoga Reaches Out Yogathon at Gillette Stadium on April 26th to benefit Boston Children’s Hospital, spoiler, Common Ground Yoga is going to have an awesome booth with their own aerial rig! Definitely go find them and check it out. If you haven’t registered for this event, go do it! Join their team, join mine, join on your own, it doesn’t matter. Just be there because it’s an awesome event and all about seva.

Westwood, MA Yoga Photo Shoot {w/ Lauren Leonard}

After our yoga teacher training mini date was frozen out {I want to say it was in the single digits}, Lauren and I opted to meet up on a much warmer day for a quick yoga mini at the beautiful Hale Reservation in Westwood, MA. Here is a place I would love to go back to both personally to hike and professionally to photograph. Westwood, MA Yoga Photo Shoot {W/ Deb Mareb}

I had the pleasure of photographing Deb Mareb, the owner of Yoga of Yarmouth Port {that’s the Cape for those of you not local} just days before it opened. Deb and I are in Jacqui Bonwell’s 500 hour yoga teacher training program and when I reached out to those who had signed up for minis when the forecast showed that it would be in just single digit weather, Deb was like, I’m in. We’re good. And sure enough, she showed up in flip flops and owned it. Deb, a huge congratulations to you on the opening of your beautiful new studio! I cannot wait to come visit it. Last summer, I posted about working on a secret project. I am excited to announce today that I had the honor of photographing a book by authors Liz Owen and Holly Lebowitz Rossi. The Yoga Effect: A Proven Program for Depression and Anxiety is available now for pre-order on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. I am personally so excited to read this book. As a yoga practitioner, teacher and photographer, I have seen the benefits of the yoga practice time and again and look forward to diving deeper into the sequences and guidance from this book.
